You can explore route options here:
Rome2Rio – Dublin Airport to GlendaloughAs the retreat approaches, we’ll also create a dedicated WhatsApp group (around 4–6 weeks before the retreat) so participants can connect and potentially organise shared taxis, lifts, or coordinated travel together.
Travel Options
1. Driving / Taxi / Private Transfer
Fastest & Most Convenient Option
Driving
The journey from Dublin Airport to Glendalough is approximately 60–65 km and usually takes around 1 hour under normal traffic conditions.
Many participants choose to rent a car from the airport, especially if they wish to explore the Wicklow Mountains before or after the retreat.

Training Clothes Guidance
In terms of training clothes, we suggest comfortable sports trousers and a top like a T-shirt, leggings can also work.
In terms of shoes, flat soled trainers would work well, so not too much heel in the trainers.
Layers & Waterproofs
Make sure to bring some waterproofs and enough sets of clothes to be able to change after getting wet during training, including a second pair of shoes.
In good old Irish fashion, the weather can get pretty wet. So, we always want to at least be prepared for rain – even though we very much hope we will have some dry days over the retreat weekend.
Also, whilst many places in the world are currently dealing with very hot weather, Ireland not so much. In fact, we currently have jumper weather, varying from 14-20 Degrees Celsius and it can be even cooler at night. So, bringing something warm and cosy is advised, the best probably being layers so you can adjust depending what the weather will have in store for us.
Training Shoes
As already mentioned, it is worth bringing a couple of pairs of shoes to be able to swap shoes when they are wet. Additionally to that, some of you might prefer to wear a pair of running shoes for when it’s time to go running and switch shoes for training on the training ground, as the more traditional Kung Fu shoes are not the greatest for running.
If you have been wondering if that is possible. It certainly is, you will just have to prepare yourself and manage your shoe swap swiftly.
-
The Wicklow Mountains are known for their excellent drinking water, and we are lucky to get to enjoy some of the good water here at the retreat site.
So, please bring your own refillable bottle (there won’t be any bottles provided on site) to be able to top up on water as and when you need to and to have your own designated bottle with you for training and when you move about.
-
The venue will be providing you with 3 nourishing vegetarian meals a day to support your training (including dessert!).
You are welcome to bring any additional snacks you like for yourself, there a some local shops around, but is safer to bring any particular snacks you like, just incase you don’t find what you are looking for or not getting the time to go during the retreat. Each participant will get a complimentary speciality coffee per day (e.g. latte, mocha, cappuccino etc), there will also be complimentary ground/ filtered coffee and tea available throughout the day.
-
On the Sunday night we will celebrate our last night at the retreat together by the fire with music, just for the last night, the venue will open the Wine Bar so you can order drinks and pay on tab if you wish (Optional).
